Luke Bell – known for his classic honky-tonk sound – has died at the age of 32 after going missing for more than a week.
According to the Tucson Police Department, Bell was found dead on August 30 in Tucson, Arizona, according to the New York Post. He was reported missing on 20 August. A representative for the Pima County Medical Examiner’s office confirmed to E! It is reported that they have found Bell’s body and an autopsy is pending.
The news of Bell’s passing was first confirmed by his close friend and fellow musician Matt Kinman via a blog post on Saving Country Music.
The news has reached the Tucson Police Department, but has not heard back.
Following the news, a few of Bell’s down home music schools took to online entertainment to share their sympathies, including vocalist Margo Price, who tweeted, “Goddamn, rest east for our dear companion Luke Bell.

Born in Kentucky, according to Saving Country Music, Bell got his start in the music industry at a local bar in a band while in college. He eventually made it to Nashville, where he recorded his debut album, Don’t Mind If I Do, in 2014, followed by his self-titled album two years later. As his profile rose, Bell worked to open the road to many country greats, including Willie Nelson, Hank Williams Jr., and Dwight Yoakam.
He delivered his last single, “Desirous Boy”, in January 2021.
“Frankly, I experience the day, and I count the grins,” Bell told The Boot in a 2016 meeting. “That’s it. Tune in, a fraction of the time, I drink lager with my neighbors. Life’s not so bad. The downside, in some ways, is I don’t have a wife and kids, but at the same time, it’s pretty ideal right now.” I just travel to other cities and hang out with other people.”
